Société Anonyme is the moniker of Kim Peters, who lives and works in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. After his academic years, Kim spent his career working in graphic design, predominantly for the music industry. He has always had a keen interest in music and subcultures, taking inspiration from the defining British (sub)cultural movements. A passion for DJ-ing also emerged from this and he still tortures the 1s and 2s on a regular basis.
In recent years, Kim has dug further into his passion for analog collages and a strong body of work has been born out of those explorations. The source material for his collages comes from magazines and books, mostly found in thrift shops and flea markets, often combined with pieces of ephemera or card stock. The limitations of working only with found paper, the often unexpected and otherworldly results of intersecting or juxtaposing images and the imperfections arising from creating stuff by hand is what makes this medium so irrestistable to him.
His work is featured frequently on some of the big collage websites and pages like collage_expo, Revue Collé, The Steidz, Mekanikcopulaire and Paris Collage Collective. Revue Collé even did an in-dept interview with him, which you can read here:
